SYNC-ON

SYNC-ON is an Arduino project centered around the senses. It is designed with a heart rate sensor to maintain the connection between friends during a busy and noisy concert or festival. Through sight and scent, users share a unique experience together.

The concept includes a headband, a heart rate sensor, a backpack containing all the technology, and a scent dispenser.

The heart rate sensor continuously monitors your heart rate. Using the color displayed on top of your head, friends can see whether your heart rate is high or low and react accordingly. The colors range from blue for a calm heart rate below 70, to green and yellow for heart rates between 70-80 and 80-90, during which the scent dispenser remains off. When the heart rate exceeds 90, a pleasant scent is released, signalling that the scent dispenser has been activated.

This system encourages friends to dance or move together, aiming to raise each other’s heart rates and share a chosen scent as a reward. By dancing and sharing scents, a new form of connection emerges among friends, allowing them to synchronize uniquely.
